An Airshow Review…
Nashua Aviation Heritage Festival at Daniel Webster Collage in Nashua, NH had it’s good points and bad points.
Good points:
1. The Warbirds.
2. The B-17, B-24, B-25.
3. The drive was painless. Godbless RTE. 3.
4. Easy access to Daniel Webster College from the Highway.
5. Short lines for the Port-O-Potties.
6. Bringing Sunscreen, a hat, a water bottle and parking close to the field.
7. The Website actually posted some pictures flying in a C-47.
Bad points:
1. Long lines for parking.
2. Hour long lines for food. This needs to be fixed. ASAP.
3. Once the Warbirds flew over show center died.
4. Warbirds only running laps around the airport because the wavers to allow aerobatics weren’t filed.
4a. The only reason this was done because closing down the airport to private airplane traffic. I don’t think the half dozen private planes I saw take off in the six hours I was there would have cared if they waited.
5. The lone Aerobatic Act got claps from the crowd since the act was the best of the entire show. This is a bad sign, no offense to the Aerobatic Act, since every single Act should be getting claps if the Fesitval actually had more acts to clap for.
5a. I’m not counting laps as Acts. Some Aerobatic Runs with the War Birds and the B-17, B-24, B-25 would have been spectular.
6. Less planes than last year.
7. Not buying a telephoto lens before going to the show.
8. Not bringing a Ladder to the show. (Pictures forth coming.)
9. Not enough picture galleries. You’ve got the website and obviously someone knows how to use photoshop enough to get a photo gallery going so might as use it to it’s fullest.
Overall, it was a ok Airshow.
I think last year was better, less lines to deal with and a few more planes were there.
It wasn’t like the Quonset Airshows of old, but, there’s only so much you can do at a Mnicpal Arport as compared to an old, closed, SeaBee Base.
I hope next year there’s growth. There has to be growth.
If not, and if more people show up then the lines will be twice as long and people will not be happy. We had a perfect day for an Airshow, sunny, no clouds and a cool breeze. If there had been more acts I would have settled underneath a wing and watched all day.
Videos and Photos will be forth coming.
