Archive for Airshows

happy-fathers-day-you-father

Glad I didn’t get today off to hit up Collings Foundation Open House since it rained. At least with the National Guard Airshow swinging by in two weeks I’ve got the entire weekend off.

Finished up Duane Swierczynski’s Severance Package, pretty good read. My mom suggested Outland by Diana Gabaldon.

Also, for those Billie Piper fans, her Diary of a Call Girl Series begins on Showtime tonight right after Weeds.

New Venture Bros on tonight or if you wanna watch it now swing by Adult Swim.

Hope everyone has a good father’s day.

According to the recent Collings Foundation Newsletter, they now a fully flyable P-15c Mustang.

Yes, that squeal you hear is Paul C doing backflips.

And, you too can fly it for an hour for only $3,000.

It’s unfortunate that Collings Foundation schedule and Quonset Air Nation Guard Airshow are at odds with each other.

Quonset needs some class, er, I mean, acts and Collings Foundation certainly has enough planes at their disposal now.

New England Patriots on NBC/CBS…

Looks like the New England Patriots (15-0 baby, woot woot) final regular season game will be shown on NBC and CBS instead of NFL TV as originally planned.

Collings Foundation Open House…

Decided to take a day off and check out the Collings Foundation Open House up in Stow, MA with Mike B.

I would love to say we went yesterday in the warmth but instead we went on Sunday with the clouds.

The drive up was interesting once we got into Stow and began going through side streets then back roads until we arrived a the Foundation’s driveway.

The driveway was the last place I expected it. After driving by all the expensive homes you suddenly come around the corner and there’s this road leading up into this field

I’ve never been to the Foundation but I have to say, if there’s ever a Spring/Summer Open House like they’ve done in the past, I’m there.

I also highly recommend bringing chairs and blanket if weather permits.

After taking more than a few pictures of Collings Foundation Cars, Planes and the Stearman we decided to get some lunch at The Alamo in Milford, MA.

Located off Exit 19 on 495, The Alamo is great Mexican Resturant. Nice staff, good food and good prices.

Pictures forthcoming and probably be posted to the Photo Blog.

Yet more, plane porn…

Yep.

More plane porn.

B-24 Runup and Take Off video…

Started going through the videos I had taken a few years back of the Collings Foundation Planes.

More on the way.

Collings Foundation B-17, B-24, B-25 will be at North Central Airport from September 10 through the 12th.

Complete Calender run down can be found here.

Hellcat in July…

Hellcart in July, the longest running multi-photo spread on my daily Photo Blog should be coming to end towards the end of next month. I spent last night during Dresden and BSG uploading a months worth of photos and only eight photos shy of 120 pictures.

As for the next themed spread, it’s a toss up between the rainy Quonset National Guard Airshow 2006, the Two Day Red Sox Yankee Game Stint in June of 2006 or time delayed photos I took on the way home from the Red Sox Game in 2006…
