Saturday ramblin’…

I decided not to take the trek up to BU to drop off my head shot for the extra casting call for Shutter Island. And, judging from what Vi said about the line that snaked all around the George Sherman Union, I’m glad I didn’t spend the time or the gas to drive up there and stand in line.

I didn’t mind standing in line outside Barry’s for the extra call for Dan In Real Life. But, once was enough.

I mailed out the headshot and emailed back LDI about being interested in the Richard Gere movie they’re filming in RI right now. They’re looking for extras for background for possibly 10 days.

Had a big ole get together at Pete C’s for his 30th B-Day and with the minor exception of Vanburen not being able to attend due to be stuck in PA for work, everyone showed up. The last time we managed to get this many people together was New Years Eve 2006.

All in all, was a good day. Still working on the first scene for the WTG Comic. Got the lighting down. Now, must figure out if I want change the skin The Core from the default to Space Relic Skin. Then there’s small matter of writing the script for said scene and background info.

This one scene leads into the 24 pages I’ve already written last year.

And, the box for my Xbox hasn’t shown up yet, if I don’t see anything by Tuesday I’m going to call them to confirm where they sent it to. . .

Chuck and Totems…

Just a heads up for those who don’t have Tivo/DVR: NBC is burning off the last two, new, episodes of Chuck tomorrow night: 8pm and 10pm. I’m guessing they don’t want to spread them out over a few weeks since it’s only two episodes.

Also, Paul C has begun drawing Totems again, minus Pony Girl Colt, check out the RSS Feed to his Gallery. General output of new images seems to be one every few days.

The Core…

Behold, a render of the first scene of the WTG On-Line Comic:

previewdeck.jpg

Just for shits and grins I’m gonna put the Dropship from Aliens in and then get back to work.

List of items used in the render in case people were a wonderin’: Strange Worlds Planet Pack. Strange Worlds: Background Builder. The Core. And Sci-Fi Crates and Containers.

While I let that render I ran the gauntlet that was XBox 360 Technical Support and scheduled for a box to be dropped off for me ded 360. I’m tempted on selling it and just buying an 360 Arcade in the hopes the chip set will be good. Having had my original since launch and had no problems with it, I consider myself luckier than most.

The rest of the day was spent getting Paul C up and running with high speed net.

Topping it all off with watchin’ Stargate Movie on Sci-Fi.

Brotherhood Season 3 is greenlit.

Variety reports Brotherhood, the Showtime Series shot in and around Providence, RI has been greenlit for Season 3.

Episode run is eight episodes.

And, unless creator Blake Masters wrote them in advance, production will begin once the writer’s strike is over.

Hopefully this will call for more meet and greets and extra casting calls.

Shutter Island Casting Call…

Grant Wilfley Casting is holding an OPEN CALL in Boston to cast BACKGROUND EXTRAS for the feature film ASHECLIFFE directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Leonardo DiCaprio. (Dunno why they renamed it from Shutter Island)

This film is set in the 1950s in a mental institution with flashbacks to a WWII concentration camp. Casting for people to play mental institution staff (doctors, nurses, orderlies, guards), mental patients (including interesting, quirky or unusual character faces), the malnourished and emaciated concentration camp prisoners (many of whom will have their heads shaved), and people to play WWII American and German soldiers (young athletic types, people with military or law enforcement experience and knowledge of firearms, police officers, fire fighters, ROTC, etc). Seeking men who are willing to have their hair cut short and women with natural-looking hair color, no highlights. Specifically seeking Caucasian and African-American people.

Filming begins in Boston area March 2008.

Open Call will be held from 10am - 4pm, on Saturday Jan. 26 at Boston University (George Sherman Union - Metcalf Hall) 775 Commonwealth Ave. Boston, MA 02215.
