A Grave Wedding starts next week…

Over on the Photoblog with You aren’t afraid of the Dark, are you? ending on Sunday, we’ll be taking the Wayback Machine to the beach for A Grave Wedding on Monday followed up by a trip to a Pawsox Game the week after.

And, if things go well in NYC, Matt B and Vanburen will share some photos of their trip on their dust covered photo blogs….

You aren’t afraid of the Dark, are you?

So begins my first week of Photoblogging entited: You aren’t afraid of the Dark, are you?

What happens when you’re falling asleep and the fridge, which, you’re pretty sure is as old or older than you are, suddently stops humming and the faint glow of white, green, orange and red from all electronic devices in the room blink off and the music from your upstairs neighbors is mercifully silenced.

You wander outside, look around and see the lights for at least five blocks in every dirction are dead.

Do you go back to bed and forget the crazy event?

Nope.

You get your tripod, fire up the camera and stand in the middle of Narragansett Parkway in your PJ’s and start snapping off 15 second exposures!

Portable Digital Mayhem direct from New England…

From the ashes of my .Mac Photo Site comes my new Photoblog.

So, for those keeping track of my shennigans, I have:

1. Main Blog with subjects vary from TV to Macs to Screenwriting…
2. LJ Blog or my NaNoWrimo Blog with odd postings that wouldn’t normally be put on my main blog…
3. A Photoblog for Digital Photos!
4. Vidblog for videos, sometime…soon…I think…
5. eBay Site Buy buy buy!
6. Cafepress Site with Items ranging from Screenwriting Hack Shirts to Paul Chabot’s Digital Artwork for sale…
7. And, the whispers of an On-Line Comic.

I just seem to multiply when drenched in water, don’t I?

If anyone wants to take the plunge into Photoblogging, I do recommend Pixelpost. It’s is fun application once you know what you’re doing and sure it doesn’t have the community vibe that Flickr has but I think it allows for more of a personal touch.

This is what I recommend:

1. Have a spare SQL Database on your server.
2. Think of a good name for said Photoblog.
3. Actually, read the README File carefully to make sure your hosting company has: PHP with GD-lib (with JPG-Support), required for thumbnailing. (This one is the biggie.)
4. Find the the right theme for you.
5. Begin finding interesting pictures to post. (see my bro’s photoblog, Shootmatt when I mean interesting.)
6. Adjust your sidebar.php coding on your blog to show random images.

The RSS Feed does work so feel free to bookmark it in your RSS Readers/Firefox.

I’ll be posting one a day and generally in themes ranging from Weddings, Baseball Games, Airshows, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and such.

Anyone in NE Area up for starting a Yahoo Group dedicated to NE Photobloggers? I saw one for NYC and didn’t find one for NE…

Photo Friday

Welcome to Photo Friday.

These pictures were taken when I was still in my old apartment in Pawtucket Village.

One night the lights went out.

Nikon Coolpix P1 & P2, with WiFi…

The Nikon Coolpix P1 & P2, with WiFi Capabilities is a wonderfully, awesome, thing.

Once Nikon and the other Camera Companies manage to make the Wi-Fi Cheap for them this will spread like wildfire. This is how things should be.

I bought a 15″ G4 Apple Laptop because of the PCMIA slot so I could take my Compact Flash Card from my Digital Camera to my Laptop instead of having to dangle wires here and there.

So if Canon goes with Wi-Fi with their EOS SLRs I may just drop down to a 12″ Apple G5 Laptop.

What? One can dream, can’t one? ;)

Flickr Pictures…

As much as I love my .Mac account, I already two domain names and a email address through the High Speed Internet Provider so the .Mac Account will cease sometime in October.

The nice thing is the free one month of service of TMobile Wi-Fi for NaNoWrimo has been ordered for months now.

The Photos Link in the header will continue to point there until October and then switch over to Flickr permanently.
