Halo 3…

Nope.

I haven’t finished it yet.

I’ve been playing it Legendary. Don’t ask me why people are playing on Easy or Normal. That’s no fun at all.

I figure I should complete it by sometime next year since it took me 2 days to make it through level one.

As for the multiplayer: It rocks.

The Forge is perfect. Granted, I wouldn’t have minded a full level editor, maybe in Halo 4?

The Theater is perfect.

The screenshots I’ve been taking are nice.

Now, if only my camcorder could record off the TV I’d be making my own Red vs. Blue.

Bioshock arrives today…

For anyone with a 360 or if you’re thinking of buying a 360, I whole heartedly recommend downloading the demo of Bioshock and/or playing in store.

This is the game I’d show people who on the fence on getting a 360. Good controls, beautiful graphics and great game play.

John Woo’s Stranglehold Demo is really fun to play and with multiplayer support it may be worth renting…

Thanks to moriarty6 for finding this:

Street Fighter: The Later Years, Part 1, 2 and 3.

Halo 3 Beta begins…

The COG Team…

Viva La 80’s.

The COG Team.

Blood Divas, a Horde Guild on Shadowmoon Server (PVP) is recruiting.

Guild is friendly, willing to help others on quests and preferably drama free. So far we have a good amount of different classes signed up!

Comments, questions, comment away or pst Arral (me) or Bloodalis for info.

[EDITED TO ADD]: Blood Divas Guild is now official. Woo hoo!

When Worlds of Warcraft came out in November of 2004, gamers around the world tired of Ultima On-Line and Everquest I/II stumbled into the massive multiplayer on-line world of Azeroth and found their new drug of choice.

When the Expansion Pack Burning Crusade was announced for November 2006, people rejoiced while more than a few of us NaNoWrimo Writers shuddered at memories of writing and WOWing at the same time in 2004.

Thankfully, the Blizzard Gods took pity on us and moved up the release date to the new year.

So, with a heavy heart and with a credit $30 from Best Buy I re-installed WOW and WOW:BC on my Powerbook on Tuesday and promptly tuned in, zoned out and found Mike K, yes, Mike K was already there.

For those who haven’t a clue what I’m talking about, lemme explain a little bit about Worlds of Warcraft.

The best way to explain WOW is a Dungeon and Dragons-type of Massive World populated by Night Elves, Blood Elves, Ogres, Dwarves and Humans.

If you dislike idiots rambling on and on in a General Chat Channels and wish you weren’t paying a monthly fee of $14.99 ($12.99 if you pay 6 months up front) for this crap then World of Warcraft isn’t for you and you should probably just turn around and go back to playing another game.

Burning Crusade introduced two new races to the game along with several worlds, dungeons and jobs.

In addition, like all Blizzard Games, Mac Fans can rejoice at the fact WOW has made for both platforms.

For all it’s detractors, the $14.99 fee may be a bit of a sticker shock but for a game that is stable, sharp graphics and the sheer openiness among other things the pros really outweight the cons.

Currently the original WOW, which is required to play BC, is $19.95 and BC is $39.95. First month is free, after that it’s $14.99.

If anyone in the Inner Circle wishes to take a look at the game, I’ve got 2 10 days passes.

Mike K and I should be forming a Horde Guild tonight over at Shadow Moon Server.

Lost Planet - mini review…

…if you were looking for a second reason to get X Box 360 the Lost Planet is it.

If your region is missing the snow, pop this sucker in and just shiver at the snow and the sound effects of the wind, cuz, brrrrrr!

More than a few reviews have made mention about the fact the contracts are lacking, but, once you cycle to the controls you like (my personal fav is weapon swap and reload on Left Bumper/Right Bumper) then it’s the bees knees as Paul C would say.

The graphics are superb. Blowing things up never looked so good! The levels are huge and character animation is wonderful.

I haven’t cracked the on-line play yet and judging from my 360 F-List, no one else has either.

And, if you’re looking to rent it, the Gamestop I went to had nearly a dozen copies to rent on the day it came out which is surprise since many times they are rather lacking in multiple copies of 360 games.

So, vBuren and v1Beta, the game is a must. So get your nose outta COD 3 and into Lost Planet.

[EDITED] - I just jumped into the Multi Player and jumped right back out again, for some reason there is no quit button, the start button has been completely disabled, unknown as to why.

This puts a damper on things since the single player had been pretty good and now with this major bug, MP may be impossible to play until they fix it.

Rainbow Six: Vegas…

Back in the heyday of the original Xbox, there were few games I played constantly: Halo/Halo 2 and Rainbow 6 3 (R63) were on the top of the list.

The nice thing about R63 was it was based in reality, so if you fell off a building you died, one shot one kill type of game.

R63’s X-Box Live Lobby set up had the best design, Halo 2’s coming in a close second. And, most of the people playing sounded like adults.

After a few less than stellar sequels, Rainbow 6: Vegas (R6V)’s multi player demo arrived on Xbox 360 and unfortunately left a sour taste in everyones mouth. I don’t know why they released the Demo like that because the game itself is excellent.

The design of First Person Shooters (FPS) have generally stayed the same for a long time.

Until recently, they’ve begun to move away form the same bland characters and begun letting user outfit their on-line avatars with different gear, clothes and body types similar to on-line RPGS.

This was something Aliens Online did waaaay back in the day, yes, 1998 counts as “waaay back in the day” and unfortunately none of the FPS Games had followed up with practice since.

The X Box Camera takes this to a whole different level when you can map your face onto your Rainbow Six: Vegas Character.

Unlike Gears of War (GOW), RSV allows a 7vs7 play and there are several levels that go on forever, this is a good thing since GOW levels are designed for 4v4.

RSV controls take a bit to get used to since the cover option found in GOW is slightly different but once you get used to it, it will save your sorry pixelated ass.

For all the upsides to RSV, one of the few downsides is suddenly the twelve to eighteen year olds hosting the game can boot anyone they don’t like. This may happen a lot elsewhere but RSV is first place I’ve seen it happen almost every game I’ve played.

Lastly, there’s no run or jump option, there’s a climb option which is fine, but after running an rolling through GOW, RSV gets back to it’s roots of nice an’ slow win the race.

Overall, the game is well worth getting, so if you have a few games that you’re not playing anymore, swing into a Gamestop or EBGames and swap them out for RSV.

And, did I mention RSV is 39.95 at Best Buy until the 6th? No? I did’t? Well, then. What are you waiting for? Go out and buy it! (Ahem, I’m looking in your general direction: vBuren and v1beta!)

On a side note, here’s hoping Halo 3 follows the rest of the pack and allows the Avatar Creation.

For a game franchise that got such stellar reviews out of the gate I’d hate to see it get mired in the past.

(Thanks to Major Nelson for the heads up)
