Foxwood Resort and Casino…

The odd thing when you are driving up Route Two in Connecticut towards Foxwoods Resort and Casino the road reminds me of back roads of New Hampshire where sparse sprinkling of single family homes and trailer line either side of the road and the only sign of civilization being traffic lights until you make a turn and there on the horizon is the Casino.

I’ve never been the gambling type so I’ve never set foot in a casino and after walking the entire casino, (this will teach me to valet park my car), I can understand fully now why no one wished to put a Casino in West Warwick.

The traffic, the construction and the sheer amount of building that big in that conjested of an area to begin with would never have worked.

It’s bad enough you can probably land a jetliner on Route Two North or South in Rhode Island but a Casino would have been over kill.

The Holiday Party went well, this is the first holiday party I had gone too since the claustrophobic party at the Inn at the Crossings years ago.

The food was excellent, the desert was CAKE! No one on my team won stuff at the raffle but a few other friends did.

And for those of us (ahem, Mike B), who haven’t been to a holiday party in a bit, I’d suggest doing the right thing: let the grandparents dot over the grand kids for the weekend and make a weekend of it. There is plenty to see and do until check out at noon.

It’s worth the forty-five minute drive down and the hotel room is worth the price they charge. There is no Wi-Fi but there is an Ethernet Port on the phone itself.

Since Providence Convention Center seems to be riddled with the plague I think that If there was ever a big comic con here I’d come down.

Only in a Casino would people line up to play tic tac toe with a chicken.

Hopefully, Utopia Film Studios will finally get built in this area. It would be nice to have Hollywood forty-five minutes away instead of a four hour plane ride.

Thankfully there is a Panera in the Casino, so breakfast will be a breeze! :)
