Paul C and I decided to catch Hulk today and found it quite enjoyable.
It wasn’t as good as Iron Man but the Hulk is a one trick pony once you figure that radiation really doesn’t actually allow you to do that fun stuff.
First hour was good, second hour was drop off since the Hulk’s external adversary wasn’t given enough back story.
The SFX were good in some placed and horrible in others. The Apache Sequence at the College looked like something out of COD4, hell the final showdown was something out of COD4.
The inclusion of the super soldier program, the same program that birthed Captain America was nice to hear about.
While I liked Ang Lee’s Hulk this was a good reboot and while I miss Sam Elliot as General Ross, the actors pulled it off. Liv Tyler’s little bursts of pep were nice to see in an otherwise boring role.
The superhero ending and the missing Captain America scene was a let down. Sure, Tony Stark was in it laying ground work for the Avengers but I’d rather see the snow scenes that seemed to be so prominent in the trailers.
I think a better ending would have been as Paul C suggested over dinner at Chili’s, having Hulk leave with Betty then Ross tell them to lower their weapons. Why have Banner on the run anymore? He just saved New York, why run? He’s not Spider-Man.
Better to have Banner under house arrest or limited movement while the Government figures out what to do with Emil. And, just what happened with Mister Blue after his head started to get big, eh?
With all the talk about Norton wanting final cut and editing, the DVD should be interesting to see
